Museum of the City of Skopje opened the exhibition Skopje, 26th July 1963.

On 26th July 2013, at 08:00 p.m., the Museum of the City of Skopjeopened the exhibition Skopje, 26th July 1963. The Seismological Observatory of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje contributed in the exhibition with:

  • a panel and posters containing the instrumental observations, the instrumental location, the mechanism of generation and the macroseismic data for the earthquake;
  • seismological instrumentation used in exploration of the seismicity of the Skopje Valley in the decade after the earthquake;
  • an animation - Real-time seismic flow in the Museum of the City of Skopje, which gives a possibility to induce a small earthquake by jumping or hitting the floor;
  • an animation - Real-time data from seismological stations in the Republic of Macedonia and the wider Balkan region.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Ǵorge Ivanov,visited the Seismological Observatory

The President of the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Ǵorge Ivanov,visited the Seismological Observatory of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje on 19th July 2013. The Rector of the Ss. Cyriland Methodius University in Skopje, Mr.Velimir Stojkovski, and the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje, Mr. Icko Ǵorgoski, were also present at the visit. The seismologists of the observatory presented to the President the history and the activities of the observatory, as well as the results of the scientific research of the 26 July Skopje strong earthquake.
